Fascinating stuff!
Software developed by an Israeli team is giving intriguing new hints about what researchers believe to be the multiple hands that wrote the Bible.
The new software analyzes style and word choices to distinguish parts of a single text written by different authors, and when applied to the Bible its algorithm teased out distinct writerly voices in the holy book.
I can think of a few blogs that would love to have this software to identify all the sockpuppets and multiple name trolls that stink up the place.

Catawampus
Catawampus is one of those funny words I used to hear fairly regularly when I was growing up, but I don’t think I’ve heard in at least 45 years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the word in print, until tonight. It was one of the Dictionary Word of the Day selections. It is such a delightful word and, better yet, it has a similar meaning to my two all time favorite words: askew and awry, both of which make me laugh. They all mean off-center. When I saw it tonight, I thought, now there is a word that has fallen out of style. Little did I know that it is still used, even if my spellchecker doesn’t recognize it as a real word. I found this out when I went to look for some kind of graphic or picture that would demonstrate catawampus. Here are just a few examples of its use:

If you are not familiar with “Fast and Furious,” it started life as someone’s harebrained idea to run a sting, where legal gun dealers would sell guns to questionable individuals for quesstionable purposes, in other words, to thugs for export to Mexican drug cartels. Yeah! Really really stupid, right? Now, after numerous Mexican police and civilians have been killed with those guns and two of our officers have also died, the whole operation is falling apart and ATF and Justice are falling over each other to cover their moronic asses.
Rep. Darrell Issa discusses Attorney General Eric Holder’s testimony and the investigation into the Justice Department’s “Operation Fast and Furious”. An operation which deliberately let operatives of Mexican drug cartels purchase guns at licensed U.S. firearms dealers and did nothing to intercept the gun purchaser or retrieve the guns even when they were under active surveillance by federal law enforcement officials.

This beautiful new image, captured June 16 by NASA’s Cassini orbiter, highlights the stark differences between Saturn’s two largest moons.
Rhea, the grey rock in the foreground, is a cratered, icy world about 950 miles wide. By contrast, Titan, the hazy yellow behemoth in the background, is the largest moon in the solar system at 3,200 miles across.

Some people said I should be in school which is kind of what I thought this bus tour was, but more fun. Of course, I’m out of school because kids in Alaska still get summer vacations like in the old days when kids learned things from their parents, and not just the State. Being “schooled” sure wouldn’t hurt some of the people saying how silly a tour of historic American landmarks is. Have they ever taken one?

Is There Anything More Satisfying than a Good Grilled Cheese Sandwich?
I like to make mine with multiple cheeses inside fresh sour dough bread lathered with butter slabs and parmesan cheese, which when grilled gets a really nice crusty top and bottom. I would be a regular customer at a grilled cheese shop. In fact, if I had any money, I would sign up for the first franchse.
Jonathan Kaplan, former boss of the company that came up with Flip cameras, has raised $10M in venture finance to start a chain of grilled-cheese sandwich restaurants whose unique twist is that you can place your order in advance using a mobile device or computer and get a QR code that you can present when you’re ready to eat.

The path Barack Obama is taking this nation down is against everything we stand for or, at least, that I was brought up to believe we stand for. He is abdicating America from its unique place as #1 in world affairs to totalitarians who want us destroyed. It is crazy dangerous.

Hi this is Rudy, a Pal2Pal rescue dog. Mason is one tough dog. I know how scary it is to be hurt, lost, cold, and wet, but I never had to deal with two broken legs. Way to go Mason. Could we expect any less from a good looking dog like you.

A satellite survey of Egypt has uncovered lost treasures including 17 pyramids and more than 1,000 tombs. Three thousand ancient settlements have also been located by scientists who studied infrared images which allowed them to see underground buildings.
Astounded researchers on the ground have already confirmed that two of the pyramids exist - and they believe there are thousands more unknown sites in the region. Researchers from the University of Alabama, USA, believe that there are many more buildings buried deeper than those already spotted, the most likely location being under the banks of the River Nile.
