Local Events for DeVore & Thibodean Canceled Due to Rain and Politics
Via email from Murrietta Online News
This was written by event organizers with some light editing:
The Tea Party Revolution Candidate Fair 2010 was canceled, not only because of rain, but because Tom Fuhrman, the owner of Wooden Nickel Ranch was told to “Cease and Desist” this Saturday’s event by the City of Menifee. Fuhrman, from Wooden Nickel Ranch, has been given permission from the Menifee City Council for a 5 year permit to hold events at the Ranch, but he received a letter this week stating to cease and desist this upcoming event. This is private property. He was also told the application is pending. There had been no indication of any problems recently. Why now and why so close to a pending event?
On Wednesday about 4:45 pm, one member assisting in organizing the event received a phone call from one of the candidate’s coordinators. This person was told by the candidate’s coordinator that he received a phone call from a female at the Menifee city council warning them the event was going to be stopped by the City of Menifee on the day of the event. He stated that they told him that the Ranch owner had a code violation on the property.
Only one candidate out of the six candidates on the flyer was notified that the event would be closed down on the day of the event. Also, neither California Assemblymen were notified.
Another member helping organize the grassroots event, Tea Party Revolution Candidate Fair, was contacted by someone in the media inquiring if the event was going to be canceled. The media person indicated that there was a rumor going around that the City of Menifee had told the owner of the venue that the event would have to be canceled because of a code violation issue. The event member was quite surprised to hear that comment. This has never been an issue before when other events have been recently booked there.
There have also been some emails received from non-Menifee residents, attending the Menifee City Council meetings, belonging to an ad-hoc group, trying to destroy one candidate, Clay Thibodean, and some of the people working on the event. “Politics as usual” can’t have people running around that can’t be controlled! There may be close ties between this ad-hoc group and the Menifee City Council. A member of this group is a campaign member for the Inland Empire of the candidate that was notified. Again, no other candidates were notified.
The focus of the Event is to get people involved, elect good honest candidates, and clean out Washington and Sacramento.
The person who is getting hurt the most is Tom Fuhrman, the owner of the Wooden Nickel Ranch, and all the non-profit groups he helps. Besides allowing a political event for people to get to know candidates and get involved in taking back Washington, he helps many nonprofit groups. He gave his ranch out to raise money for the firemen’s families who were killed in the Esperanza Fire, the boy Scouts, Cancer fund raisers, NA, and many other charities.
Strong arming by the Menifee City Council and this ad-hoc group has caused great harm to Fuhrman as well as good Americans who want to change the politics as usual.
