Two Fresno County Deputies and a Police Officer Shot in Fresno

Sounds like a very hairy ordeal.

RESNO, Calif.  — Two Fresno County deputies and a police officer were shot Thursday by a man who then barricaded himself inside a house and continued to fire on law enforcement officials, authorities said.

A neighbor said he heard what sounded like hundreds of shots.

[...]

The injured officers were shot during an unspecified investigation in a rural part of Central California. Two were deputies with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department. The other was a police officer from Reedley.

Their conditions were unknown. Both were taken to a hospital.

The deputies were assisting state fire officials when they were shot, Curtice said.

UPDATE:

They were trying to serve a search warrant when the gunman opened fire. They used a robot later to confirm the gunman’s death:

A gunman authorities say opened fire Thursday on police who tried to serve search warrants at his mobile home in Central California, killing a sheriff’s detective and critically wounding a police officer, has also died.
